Private sellers: both free, buyers pay
In the UK, private sellers pay no selling fee on either platform. Vinted adds its Vinted fee to the buyer’s total, and eBay adds a Buyer Protection fee of £0.10 plus 7% up to £20, 4% to £300 and 2% to £4,000. The cheaper platform for your buyer depends on the price.
Business sellers
eBay charges UK business sellers a final value fee (11.9% for clothes and shoes) plus a per-order and a regulatory fee, all with VAT. Vinted’s business accounts (Vinted Pro) don’t publish a fee, so we compare with the private-seller rate.
France and the US
Since 1 September 2026, eBay charges private sellers in France and the EEA nothing at all, like Vinted. In the US, eBay takes 13.6% plus $0.30 to $0.40 per order, while the Vinted fee is paid by the buyer.

Is it cheaper to sell on Vinted or eBay?
For UK and French private sellers, both are free: the buyer pays the fee. For business sellers and in the US, eBay takes a final value fee and Vinted doesn’t.
