API terms

These API terms apply when you use the Retailed API, data feeds or datasets (the "Data Services"). They add to our Terms and Conditions, which also apply. If the two differ, these API terms prevail for the Data Services. A signed order form or contract with Retailed prevails over both.

The Data Services are for business users only.

1. Access and API keys

  • You get API keys from your Retailed dashboard. Keep them secret and do not put them in public code or in apps that run on your users' devices. You are responsible for all usage made with your keys.
  • If a key leaks, revoke it in the dashboard and tell us at support@retailed.io.
  • We may revoke a key that we believe is compromised or misused, and will tell you as soon as we can.

2. Plans, limits and billing

  • Request limits, credits and prices depend on your plan, as shown on the API pricing page or your order form.
  • Requests over your limits may be refused or, if your plan says so, billed as overage.
  • Unused credits expire at the end of each billing period unless your plan says otherwise.
  • Billing, renewal, cancellation and refunds follow section 3 and 4 of the Terms and Conditions. The consumer withdrawal right does not apply because the Data Services are for businesses.

3. What you may do with the data

Unless your plan or order form says otherwise, you may:

  • use the data in your own products, websites, apps and internal tools, including showing it to your own end users as part of a product that adds its own value;
  • store results for as long as you have an active plan, and cache them to reduce requests.

You may not:

  • resell, sublicense or redistribute the data on its own, or offer it through an API, feed or dataset that competes with the Data Services;
  • use the data in breach of the law, including consumer law (for example to display misleading prices) or competition law;
  • use the Data Services to collect personal data about individuals;
  • try to get around rate limits, for example by using several accounts or keys;
  • remove any notice that the data comes from Retailed when the order form requires attribution.

Datasets and data feeds are licensed for the uses written in the order form. If none is written, they are for your internal use only.

4. Data sources and accuracy

  • The data comes from public sources, marketplaces and third-party data partners. It is provided "as is". It may be delayed, incomplete or wrong, and marketplace prices change quickly. Check it before relying on it for important decisions.
  • Retailed is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by the marketplaces and brands whose products appear in the data. Their names and trademarks belong to them.
  • Some sources may become unavailable. We may then remove or change the matching endpoints (see section 5). If an endpoint that is central to your plan stops working for more than 7 days, you can cancel and get a refund of the unused part of your prepaid period.
  • You are responsible for complying with any terms that apply to you when you show or use marketplace data in your own products.

5. Changes to the API

  • We may add endpoints and fields at any time. Your integration should ignore fields it does not know.
  • For breaking changes (removing an endpoint or field, changing a response format), we give at least 30 days' notice by email and in the changelog on docs.retailed.io, unless the change is forced on us by a source or by the law, in which case we tell you as soon as we can.

6. Availability and support

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee a service level unless your order form includes one. Support is by email at support@retailed.io, and we reply within 5 working days.

7. Data we keep about your usage

We log each request (key, endpoint, parameters, time, IP address, response status) to run the API, bill usage, help you debug and prevent abuse. We keep these logs for 12 months. See our privacy policy.

8. Suspension

We may suspend your access without notice if your usage threatens the security or stability of the Data Services or breaks section 3. In other cases we warn you first and give you time to fix the issue.

9. Liability

Section 10 of the Terms and Conditions (business users) applies. In particular, we are not liable for decisions made, prices set or losses suffered because of data provided through the Data Services.
